Scott MacIntyre Mandolin Rain

Scott MacIntyre the contestant of American Idol sang "Mandolin Rain". He gave his audition in Phoenix, Arizona and is a survivor of several Hollywood auditions, too. Now, Scott MacIntyre finally made it American Idol Season 8 Top 36.

He was remarked by the judges as:

Randy - “This wasn’t the most perfect vocal, but you had to hit the big notes you really hit them.”
Kara - “You move mountains. You’re passionate about it and you don’t make excuses.”
Paula - “You blessed us all with your gift.”
Simon - “You’re growing on me. I think there are better singers in the competition. You’re the only one I think I’ll remember.”

Below is the lyrics of "Mandolin Rain" which was a song taken off The Way It Is album by Bruce Hornsby and the Range.

The song came and went
Like the times that we spent
Hiding out from the rain under the carnival tent
I laughed and shed smile
It would last for awhile
You dont know what you got till you lose it all again

Listen to the mandolin rain
Listen to the music on the lake
Listen to my heart break every time she runs away
Listen to the banjo wind
A sad song drifting low
Listen to the tears roll
Down my face as she turns to go

A cool evening dance
Listening to the bluegrass band takes the chill
>from the air till they play the last song
Ill do my time
Keeping you off my mind but theres moments
That I find, Im not feeling so strong

Listen to the mandolin rain
Listen to the music on the lake
Listen to my heart break every time she runs away
Listen to the banjo wind
A sad song drifting low
Listen to the tears roll
Down my face as she turns to go

Running down by the lakeshore
She did love the sound of a summer storm
It played on the lake like a mandolin
Now its washing her away again

Listen to the mandolin rain
Listen to the music on the lake
Listen to my heart break every time she runs away
Listen to the banjo wind
A sad song drifting low
Listen to the tears roll
Down my face as she turns to go

The boats steaming in
I watch the sidewheel spin and i
Think about her when I hear that whistle blow
I cant change my mind
I knew all the time that shed go
But thats a choice I made long ago

Listen to the mandolin rain
Listen to the music on the lake
Listen to my heart break every time she runs away
Listen to the banjo wind
A sad song drifting low
Listen to the tears roll
Down my face as she turns to go
