Modern Music Artists

Music is beginning to make that shift again. Artists will always have their say; but it seems high time songwriters had once again, that place where they used to capture the EAR of the public. Not to get religious or promote political views, like we see so much of today; but rather to just say something valueble again. Something of lasting value; something like IMAGINE.

Imagine a time like the 80's when music just flowed from our radios like pure water. We were captivated by artists like Phil Collins, Elton John, David Bowie, Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, Steve Winwood, The Beach Boys, Van Halen, Styx, Aha, Wham, Elton John, The Thompson Twins, Tears For Fears, The Stray Cats and a ploethera of other artists who seem to have faded out to the blur of hip-hop, rap, and "country" music.

Artists today are afraid to protest war, stand up for rights or even raise money for a good cause. This has to change! Corporate media must be fully diminished and replaced once again by real human expression, whether the lobbyists, politicians, religious establishments or special interest groups like it or not. Our right to express ourselves in the past few years seems to really have been trampled upon. It's almost like it's unpopular to voice our opinion about the most pressing issues of the day. Freedom of speech is the single most important freedom we have. We haven't lost IT yet, but if we don't start using it and saying what we feel, even if it's just love we feel; we are could end up like europe in the early twentieth century.

Music is the single most powerful influence on earth; even so much as it is written in The Bible: "Uplift one another with spiritual songs." Music is the best way to foster freedom.

Baby Boomers And Rock & Roll Music

When the music gets too loud there is a problem for baby boomers. Baby boomers were part of a generation in music that defined so much of what is heard now. There are covers done by bands and rappers that borrow hooks from songs from the 60s and 70s. Baby boomers don?t need to cover their ears when they hear the music of today, but embrace what their generation did for modern music.

When baby boomers were growing up, music was an important part of society. Icons were first taking form such as The Beatles or The Rolling Stones. Music was about life and changes. Music had meaning and reached into the heart and soul of the baby boomers. Not much has changed in that respect. Baby boomer musicians are still creating songs about getting older. However, the music still stays the same. Baby boomers can rock out and enjoy the music now just as they did when they were younger.

The rock and roll lifestyle wasn't always glitz and glam. The 60s saw the demise of several rock icons. Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Freddie Mercury all succumbed to the lifestyle. There deaths were just as much as a part of the culture as any other thing that happened in that time. They went too far and took the rock and roll culture to a further point. Their music is still celebrated and looked upon as unique, trendy and still remains current to this day.

Baby boomers learned how to move on because it doesn't pay to wallow in sadness. Musicians from that time are still making music. The Rolling Stones recently went on a tour that was one of the most successful in the country. They made money while young and old rocked out to their music. Music of the baby boomer generation transcends different cultures. Take at look at Aerosmith or Bob Seger. These are all musicians that maintained over the years and continue to rock even into their later years. Just because you?re old doesn't mean you aren't allowed to have fun. Baby boomers will argue they deserve it most because they have created a culture that won?t soon be forgotten.

Rock and roll isn't just about the music though. Rock and roll is about an attitude. It?s a way of life. A life the baby boomers exemplify. They live life to the fullest, doing everything they can and never getting cheated. However, the ones that took this attitude too far are the ones that suffered. If you look at baby boomers and all they have done in life, you see this attitude. They have worked in the best jobs, enjoyed life by going on great vacations and have bought the best things life has to offer.

Rock and roll is about not selling out. That is why rockers have great contempt for anyone they have deemed a sell out. This doesn't change with age. Baby boomers still aim to have fun even though their lives have gotten busier and they have more responsibilities. The more work they have to do just means a bigger reward in the end.

The Effects of Music

The great Frank Zappa put it best when he said "Modern music is people who can't think signing artists who can't write songs to make records for people who can't hear".

Music can be found nearly anywhere, whether in the flowing of water, bustling of trees, knocks at the door and even in the waves of the ocean. Music can be created but it's difficult to destroy it. Music doesn't know any boundaries and everyone on this earth can connect to music in some way or another. Many studies have been done to find the affect of music on plants, pets and humans. The effect of music is not subtle, but can be easily seen almost instantly. Music has been used to cure people either by enhancing existing emotions or even changing the basic nature of a person. It is used for increasing productivity, decreasing anxiety and many other functions that it performs which go unnoticed most of the time.

Choosing music on your taste can be difficult - try something new like choosing music by thinking what you have to accomplish and how will you do it. If you choose music in this way, you would definitely feel the difference and will be benefited by the power of music. If you wish to do some work which requires active participation or something that consumes lot of mental energy, listen to music which is fast paced and more upbeat. Don't go for heavy metal or music with heavy beats as it will increase the productivity but will also increase the level of adrenaline and stress making it tough to accomplish a task.

If you are working in stressful conditions where physical work is not required and more concentration is required in the work, listen to music like jazz, something soft and soothing. Once you have your choice of music, you have to look for music from various sources.
